What is Cultural Streetscapes?
Cultural Streetscapes is Kantar Consulting’s vetted Network of global cultural correspondents. Streetscapers regularly observe, interpret, and report on what’s shaping their marketplace, enabling clients to learn from the leading edge of culture and switch on growth. The Cultural Streetscapes Network currently covers more than 50 countries and 150 cities globally.

What is the role of a Streetscaper?
A Streetscaper works as a freelance cultural correspondent, and is retained in our Network for custom research with Kantar Consulting. Their personal strengths are an inquisitive nature and an interest in the changing world around them. It is through this process that we help clients understand “why?” certain things are happening as much as explain “what?” is going on in the world.

What makes a good Streetscaper?

  • Streetscapers are cultural observers and original creators by nature. They often come from academic and creative backgrounds including (but not limited to) ethnographers, journalists, designers, anthropologists, pod cast hosts, DJs, editors, bloggers, chefs, graphic artists and marketers…
  • Proven cultural influence; has a portfolio, website, blog, Twitter, Instagram, etc. exhibiting their vision or skills
  • Excellent communication skills (in English)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage deadlines professionally

Streetscapers can be solicited for custom research projects, to help clients DISCOVER and TEST cultural approaches and ideas for their bespoke needs. In addition to providing rich Cultural Commentary, Streetscapers validate their perspectives by providing Marketplace Manifestations of trends in their locale.
